TAKE A STAND
I explored the theme of rape culture looking into how fashion photography, by constantly objectifying women’s bodies, helps in feeding and spreading this culture and also in expanding these wrongful narratives which affect the way society behaves around the theme of rape culture.
“In this zine, I have attempted to deepen an understanding of how and why fashion culture capitalises the objectification of women, an objectification that is linked to the way we view women in society today. This research and project helped me reflect on my own photographic practice and the way the images I make might be perceived and received by the individual viewer and in the broader context of society.
This zine is a reflection of the state of fashion today and representation of women today.”
